Neal Boortz

Weekdays: 1pm - 3pm

A 40-year radio veteran, Neal Boortz began his career at WTAW-AM in Bryan, Texas, before moving to WRNG-AM, Atlanta’s first talk radio station. Boortz attended law school, passed the bar exam in 1977 and went on to operate a successful law practice until 1993, all while continuing to host a talk show. He has been broadcasting from Cox Radio’s WSB-AM 750 in Atlanta, the flagship station for The Neal Boortz Show, since 1993. He joined the KVOL-AM lineup in 2008.

Boortz was named 2001 Major Market Local Talent of the Year and 2002 News/Talk Personality of the Year by the readers of Radio & Records magazine. In 2002 and 2004, he was a National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Marconi Award finalist for Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year.

When it was published in 2005, The FairTax Book, written by Boortz and Georgia Rep. John Linder, debuted as the No. 1 non-fiction book on the New York Times Best Seller List. Boortz’s third book, Somebody’s Gotta Say It, was published by Regan Books in 2007 and his fourth book, FairTax: The Truth: Answering the Critics, a follow-up to the original FairTax Book, was released in February 2008.

When he’s not on the air, you’ll probably find Neal playing golf or flying.
